Plant Sales and Tours to Support Non-Profit Organizations
As a gardener, I'm always interested in seeing how others design and plant their gardens. It is inspiring to see the many wonderful flower and plant ideas gardeners have for small, large and unique gardens. I thought you might like to know of a few regional gardening events in our area.
Friday, June 27, from 10 am to 2 pm, Car Load Plant Sale in the Leila Arboretum Greenhouse. Fill a 5' by 5' square with plants for just $50. The sale includes annuals, sun and shade perennials, groundcovers and native plants. Location: 103 Limit Street, Battle Creek, MI. All sales support the Arboretum.
Saturday, June 28, (10am to 4pm) and Sunday, June 29, (10am to 4pm) 16th ANNUAL BATTLE CREEK GARDEN TOUR – Leila Arboretum Society Fundraiser 2008.
Eight gardens are on display including the Children's Garden, each distinctive and reflective of the personality of each family who has opened their special space to the public for this two-day tour. Ticket Costs: $8 in advance or $10 the day of the Garden Tour. Tickets can be purchased at: the Leila Arboretum office, BC Farm Bureau, Springfield Landscape, Greensmith Florist, Central Florist, Capital Florist, Godfey Jewelers, Lakeview Card & Gift, The Art Center, and Serendipity in Marshall.

Marshall Garden Tour

The Kalamazoo County Master Gardener Helpline is up and running – call (269) 384-8056 with your gardening questions. The Master Gardener Booth will be at the Kalamazoo, Bank Street Farmers' Market throughout the summer and they are happy to answer questions there also.
