Winter Survivor Pansies
Colorful, Easy to Grow Flowers that Reappear Next Spring
Pansies, a cool weather favorite of many gardeners bring vivid color to your gardens in spring and fall. Now, with Winter Survivor Pansies available again this year, you only have to plant pansies in the fall to receive two seasons of color with one planting.
Winter Survivor Pansies are guaranteed to survive our Michigan winters. Plant them in the ground this fall and enjoy their brightly colored blooms and cheery demeanor again next spring.
Although pansies are not fussy plants they will grow best in a loose, rich soil in a sunny to part shade location. Pansies do not like heat and will start to wilt and decline in areas that are too hot. (Check to make sure that the sun isn't radiating off cement or siding to create an area that is too hot for these cool weather plants.) Provide a general all purpose fertilizer at planting and again in the spring once plants begin to grow.
Pansies will grow 6-9 inches tall and 9-12 inches wide. We are offering over 30 different colors of pansies and they are available in flats or 5 inch pots.
Pansies do well in patio pots and provide great fall colors. Please note that they will not survive the winter if their roots are not in the ground before it freezes. We will have pre-made patio pots available or you can create your own.
