Your Input is Always Welcomed
What Worked Well and What Didn't?
It is important for us to know what plants did and did not work well for you this past summer. We strive to select, grow and recommend to others the best plants available. Your input is needed and appreciated in order for us to do our best.
Send me an email of what did and/or didn't work for you this year and your name will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate to the retail store that can be used at anytime for any purchase for a year. (The drawing will take place October 10th so please send in your email by October 9th)
I have already heard some good comments about our new, annual geranium for shade called Saxonia Purple and Saxonia Orange. These plants have been a big hit with gardeners who have been looking for plants that provide season long color in shaded areas. They have a spreading habitat, with deep green leaves and produce flowers all season. They will also thrive in part sun. The shade geraniums reach 12 inches in height and 16-24" in width and fertilizing twice during the season was all that was needed. These geraniums did very well in both containers (not hanging baskets) and planted in the ground.
We've also learned that we need to relay to gardeners to be patient when growing Agapanthus also called African or Nile Lilly. This perennial is sought for its exceptional blue flowers, hardiness to drought and heat and nice foliage. However, we've heard from gardeners that it has taken two or more years for the plant to produce flowers and it must be mulched in the winter to survive our Zone 5 winters.
I look forward to hearing your comments about what worked or did not work well for you this summer. Please email me at: lisa@wenkegreenhouses.com
