Winterizing Your Garden

It's time to start getting your garden ready for a winter nap.

In fall or early winter, cut down the top growth of tired-looking perennials to the base of the plant. Perennials that look great in the fall can be left as is until spring.

Dividing perennials is a great way to expand your garden. Early blooming perennials can be divided in the fall while late blooming perennials can be divided next spring.
