It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

In this season of celebration and gratitude, I want to say "thank you." Thank you for supporting Wenke Greenhouses as a local business in this wonderful Kalamazoo community and allowing us the opportunity to grow. We value you and the community where we live and work.

I have learned that being "local" really means being different. Wenke Greenhouses strives to be different in many ways from the national chain stores and that difference starts with our staff. Many of our core staff have been with Wenke Greenhouses for years and have a strong desire to share their knowledge, passion and love of gardening with all our customers. Most of us have our own gardens, so we are able to give a personal accounting of how various plants will thrive in and around the Kalamazoo area. And if we don't know, we will find someone who does. Thanks to some of your great questions, it feels like I learn something new every day!

Gardening is so personal and means something different to each and every one of you. We strive to take the time to listen and understand what you are looking for when you come into our store while eagerly welcoming both beginner and experienced gardeners. We are committed to providing personalized service to each and every one of you.

Wenke Greenhouses knows that beautification has a profound impact on all aspects of a community’s success. In that effort, we have been donating plants, both flowers and vegetables, through individual donations as well as through our Good Neighbor Day Program. These donations provide many local churches, schools, non-profit organizations and local community gardens the opportunity to beautify their surroundings in an economy where flowers and plants can sometimes be last on the list or not on the list at all.  Many of these organizations have been able to create successful community vegetable gardens that can then provide for those who might otherwise go without fresh produce. If you know of an organization in Kalamazoo County that could benefit from this program, please have them contact me at laura@wenkegreenhouses.com for more information.

So, if you haven't already, I invite you to stop into Wenke Greenhouses to feel the difference of a local company that values you and our shared community. You can be assured that we stand behind all our products and our goal is your complete satisfaction. We are open Monday - Saturday 9am-6pm until December 23rd and then 9am- 2pm on Christmas Eve.

Wishing a very, merry Christmas to you all! Safe travels everyone!
