Instant Beauty

We know that April showers bring May flowers.  But what does April snow bring?  Escape the dreary weather outside by stopping in at Wenke Greenhouses.  Enjoy free inspiration, free popcorn and thousands of beautiful flowers.  Take advantage of a great special deal to start the season... Spellbound Impatien Baskets for only $5.00.  (while supplies last).

I'm frequently asked when it's ok to plant.  I really can't give a specific date because Michigan is known for fast-changing weather.  What I can tell you is that most annuals will need to be protected if the temperatures fall below 45 degrees.  It's ok to start planting perennials, cold crop vegetables and shrubs but you might lose some of the actual flowers if they're blooming now.  It's always a good idea to acclimate your plants to the outside for several days prior to planting them in their new home.

Container gardening adds instant beauty to your home, porch and patio.  They're easy to bring inside or cover if the weather turns cold at night.  We have hundreds of container gardens ready for you and the best selection of extra large, ready to bloom all summer hanging baskets.

Our Quick Class Thursday, April 28th at 6 PM is on container gardens.  After class you can make your own container garden from any of the annuals in the store (excludes tropicals) for one set price based on the container size.  Bring a friend and have a great time!.  Please register by calling 269-388-2266 or email retailinfo@wenkegreenhouses.com.

We look forward to seeing you this spring!

Good Neighbor Days

It's always been important to the Wenke family to give back to our community and Good Neighbor Days are one of the ways that we do this.  Good Neighbor Days at Wenke Greenhouses are designated days when we take our extra product available from our wholesale production and other local growers and make it available for free to local, non-profit organizations.  We have 3 dates planned for spring 2011.  All are Thursdays from 12-6.  April 28, June 2 and June 16.  Please call 388-2266 or email retailinfo@wenkegreenhouses.com to register.
