Bee Event & Perennial Exchange

Bees, Pollinators and Perennials!  We hope you can join us on Saturday, September 24th from 10-1 for a terrific, Free event.  We're excited to have the Kalamazoo Bee Club and the MSU Extension and more join us at Wenke Greenhouses as we learn about bees, beekeeping, pollinators, apitherapy and more.  At noon, we'll have a fun and informal perennial exhchange and a free pollinator perennial for each participant.  Children and adults are welcome.  See information below for more details.  Call 269-388-2266 or email retailinfo@wenkegreenhouses.com to RSVP.

Thank you to Carpenter Farms for leading our Wenke Greenhouse team in a tomato taste testing experience.  Ron Carpenter grew 20 plus varieties of tomatoes from the starter plants we had at the store this spring.  He brought labeled samples of each variety to the store last week so we pick the best tasting varieties.  It was great fun and we learned a lot.  Thank you Carpenter Farms.  For the results... see below.

It with sincere sadness that I need to inform you that Wenke Greenhouses will no longer be selling poinsettias during the Christmas season.  For over 20 years, we've been the place to go to find beautiful, holiday plants.  Thank you for supporting us; it's been a pleasure.  Contact information for other sources available in the article below.

Fall color with mums, Winter Survivor Pansies and more are available now.  Spring flowering bulbs should be planted before the ground freezes.  Use your Garden Reward points from spring this fall and enjoy!

Thanks for your support.

Other Poinsettia Fundraiser Sources

With much sadness, we have decided to not grow or sell poinsettias this Christmas season.  Our retail store will be closing the first week of November but will open again in April, 2012.  Thank you everyone who purchased poinsettias from us in the past.  We'll miss you and enjoyed the opportunity to serve you the past 20 plus years.  We recommend Boven's Quality Plants (269-343-3144) or Panse Greenhouses (269-383-1150) as local options for purchasing poinsettias for your fundraiser, church or business.
